Master Control Port and Parameter Update
Dear Team,
While I see that Sigma Studio allows SPI Parameter updates via GUI / Capture Window , I actually want to update the same SPI parameters using the master Control Port (via the xml file ) . Is this possible ??
Below is my Schematic
Below is the Xml snippet
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="no"?>
<ROM IC="ADAU1452" IC_Address="0" Address_byte_length="1">
<dateTime>2017-11-20T05:08:54.5893688Z</dateTime>
<page modetype="Mode 3">
<action instr="delay" ParamName="IC 1.Delay" DspName="IC 1">00 64</action>
<action instr="writeXbytes" len="5" addr="129" ParamName=" DCInpAlg145X1value" DspName="IC 1">00 00 00 00</action>
</page>
</ROM>
Can someone send an attached example project that demonstates SPI parameter change (such as Gain change ) via the xml file loaded into the Control Port via SPI.

Hermione

Hello Hermione,
Please find the attached project and XML files for your reference. I have recreated your setup and can successfully read and write values. I also used AD1938 CODEC for this demonstration.

I hope this will be helpful.

Dear Harish,
Well you have understood exactly my point.
Now, the problem is that I need to change the parameters in the DSP during runtime but would not have Sigma Studio running so the options of changing the parameters via the Capture Window or Parameter Update block is closed upon me. I initially thought i could maybe use the xml files to edit and do this on run time but from your inferences it seems not feasible.
You did however talk about the Slave Control Port . May i know if this can help change Parameter via SPI without having SS running ofcourse assuming i know the target address of the module.
(and yes i do not have an MCU to do this)

Rajesh

OfCourse you can, either by using SPI or I2C you will be able to control DSP parameters in run time via slave control port. You must have a programmable device which supports and sends out SPI or I2C commands like a controller or any other processor etc.
which device you are planning to use in order to control the parameters in runtime by SPI/I2C via the slave control port?
Remember that you must need SS to compile the DSP project. Only after compilation, you can export the system files (which has the parameter addresses and so on) and interface it in your code.
If you don't have a controller and want to control some basic parameters like mute/unmute or turn ON/OFF etc. then you can selfboot your project and use those on-board switches with GPIOs to control the parameters.
Once your program self-boots from your on-board EEPROM then you can control the parameter running in it by using the GPIO switches like the below project does.
Here I have 3 GPIO switches act as an input. Which will be used to mute and route the signal paths. I stored this project in self-boot EEPROM and once I initiate self-booting and the DSP starts running, then I will control the audio with the GPIO switches.
I have attached the project here. I used ADAU1467Z board, so please select the appropriate MP pins for your processor in order to test this project.

Dear Harish,
Thank you for the prompt reply. I will check and get back to you !
I also have one more query that relates to Flash Programmer , can you please help me with that
