ADAU1467z Controlled via Bluetooth Module
Hello,
A couple of months ago, I asked about making a Bluetooth-controlled digital equalizer for my university project.
Based on the advice, I purchased an ADAU1467z. Although the project is still ongoing, the responses have been incredibly helpful.
As I’m encountering many new things related to hardware design and embedded systems, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. Let me ask my questions step-by-step:
what I have:
1. ADAU1467z.
2. USB to I2S converter: Amanero Combo 384.
3. Bluetooth 5.0 BLE/Classic Module: FB301.
Here is an overall picture of my project:
The main goal is to adjust the parameters of a 4-7 band EQ running on a standalone DSP board via Bluetooth using an iOS app.
The iOS app will have a typical EQ GUI, and I also plan to add an FFT Analyzer if possible.
The audio input for the DSP board will come from external digital devices like a laptop. I have prepared a USB to I2S module for this purpose.
My first question is: Is it possible to adjust the parametric EQ parameters in real-time via communication between the DSP board and the Bluetooth module?
Secondly, is it possible to achieve the above implementation using only SigmaStudio?
Honestly, my head is full of question marks, but this is the summary of my current concerns.
If there are any projects similar to mine that use a SigmaDSP board and a Bluetooth module, I would appreciate links and detailed explanations.
Thank you in advance!

SigmaDSP Audio Processors
Hello Seokhyun,
The Bluetooth module in your shared image supports UART. Since the ADAU1467 SigmaDSP only supports I2C and SPI slave control ports. You can adjust the EQ settings by utilizing these two available protocols. You can't directly connect the Bluetooth with the sigmaDSP. SigmaDSP accepts either I2C or SPI commands.
I found the below thread similar to your question, please have a look.
You can also control the parameters in real time from external uC, the tutorial is given below. Remember that you MUST use sigma studio to compile the project. once it's compiled then you can export the system files and access the parameters in real time via slave control port by using either I2C or SPI.
