Question : How to add some algorithms to Sigma Studio+

I have a question regarding algorithms on Sigma Studio+ by ADAU1452.

I use Sigma Studio+ for some audio signal proccesing, and there are some problem now.

1. Some algorithms is not existed on Sigma Studio+.

For examle, I want to use "ADI Virtual" on Sigma Studio+.

However there is no "ADI Virtual" in Tool Box.

If I use Sigma Studio+, Can't I use some algorthm?

BTW, I'm Japanese is not good at English and Sigma Studio's bigineer.

So It would be helpful if you could explain it in simple terms.

Hello Uedasan,

I guess the 'ADI virtual' algorithm has not been ported yet to sigma3XX DSPs. So, you won't find the 'ADI virtual' algorithm in ADAU1452 DLL. The Sigma studio V4.7 which is the current version also doesn't have that algorithm.

I believe you used that algorithm previously in older generation DSPs like ADAU1701/ADAU1401/ADAU144x/ADAU1761. These DSPs have that ADI virtual algorithm.

If I want to use 'ADI virtual' etc, which version should I choose?

(Maybe, I can't use some algorithm on version 4.5 )

And I can't get so old version on Sigma studio's page.

If psiible, Please tell me about how to download old version.

Sorry, It's not about the software version. It's the older generation DSPs.

You can use Sigma Studio 4.7 and older generation DSPs (ADAU1701/ADAU1401/ADAU144x/ADAU1761) which have that algorithm.

I'm afraid it's not available with ADAU1452 (even if you use sigma studio 4.7)

Hello Uedasan,

Harish is correct that the algorithms are not available in either version of SigmaStudio and even in the older ones.

You have found a hole in our algorithm coverage. You can encode 5.1 to stereo using the older Sigma100/200 cores but you cannot decode stereo bac to 5.1.

In the Sigma 300 cores you can decode stereo that was encoded back to 5.1 but you cannot encode it.

I have requested that this be looked at but it will be a lower priority so I do not expect anything to appear for a while. If you need something for your product faster we could connect you with a third party programmer who can write custom blocks for you. Send me a PM if needed. If you do send a PM please also send a friend request so I can respond.

One other thing. Have you gone to my YouTube channel? I have several videos for beginners like you. I have one that explains the different DSP cores that I was just talking about. YouTube should be able to translate my English to Japanese for you. I am sure it is not perfect but should help you a lot.
