Hi everyone,

I am trying to integrate our sigmastudio projects into an automated build chain using SStudioPlusConsole.exe in sigmastudio+.

My projects seem to compile (link, compile) fine using the UI. When using the cli SStudioPlusConsole I get errors from certain structures in my design (currently only timers and logic).

e.g.

ADAU145X Assembler, Analog Devices Inc.
Version: 2.3.0,0 (built 10.10.2024)

I attached a demo project triggering the problem.

Did anyone come across the same problem and solved it?

thanks a lot

Hi again,

is anyone out there experiencing the same Issues?

I investigated a bit further and stumbled upon some other Issues.

The original Issue described above (different errors when compiling using the cli) does not only occur in sigmastudio +. When using the .net API of sigmastudio 4.7 this results in the same problem - so going back to sigmastudio 4.7 is not an option either.

More into testing my DSP program I realized some of the blocks do not work as expected when compiled using the CLI.

In my case this affects these Blocks:

RMS 1 Ch (for compressor/limiter and gate) as well as RMS N Ch (Ext Detect Input) - when using the cli compilation the x-axis gain seems to be completely off. Only changes to the first table entry change the audio at all. When compiling with the UI this works as expected.

Delay Multi-Tap Voltage Controlled - the max delay value is ignored completely, so the delay will not delay anything.

I am happy to give more details or test patches - these bugs currently block my progress on automating our builds.

Thanks a lot

Stefan

Hello Stefan,

For some reason I was not notified of your earlier post! I just saw this today when you added this response.

I will have to look into this.

Hello Stephan,

Our programming team tried building your project using both the UI and the console using SS+ 2.3.0 and had no errors. Your project built with no errors.

There must be something else going on that is causing problems for you. I guess my first suggestion is the usual Windows solutions of closing out all the programs and restarting your computer and then reopen SigmaStudio and try it again.

Hi Dave,

thanks for the Reply - I got no notification either, so I just saw it.

I tested again on my side.

It seems to be a Problem with the decimal point format. (I remember an Issue in the past with this fixed in a patch for Sigma Studio 4.7, but never released)

The UI seems to force the decimal point to "." - my system uses "," as default in Germany.

The CLI seems to use the systems default format which breaks in my case. On your systems this is no problem as you default to ".".

I can compile successfuly when changing the number format to "." for the complete system - there is no easy way to do this automatically during the build.

As this might break other applications as well as documents I would prefer not changing my complete system - can this be fixed in sigmastudio+ (as already mentioned there was a patch for ss4.7 which fixed something similar for me in the past).

You should be able to reproduce the Issue when changing your system to use "," insted (Regional settings in windows).

Thanks a lot

Stefan

Hello Stefan,

I just heard back from the programming team that they had fixed the issue with SS+ earlier but just fixed the issue with the console which is what you ran into. It will be included with the new update Rev 2.3.0.1 which is supposed to be available at the end of the week. Check on Monday to see if the new revision is up.
