APx-555 ADC_SDATA0 to ADAU1772Z eval bd DAC_SDATA, eval bd ADC_SDATA0 to APx-555 RCV port DAC_SDATA?
I thought to try testing the ADAU1772 eval board with the APX-555 running serial data transmit to the bd, and then feed the serial output back to the APx555. It works in loopback but when I disable loopback the APX scope monitors still a sinewave out but if I run a test it doesn't run. I have the eval bd 1772 running as a slave. All transmit signals going to the bd header except ADC_SDATA0 which goes to the DAC_SDATA pin of the APX555 receive port. Other forum threads are doing the same thing but bypass the DSP core. So I would think it would work, but I'm missing something....

I am not sure I understand the signal flow you are trying to do?
You want to take the SDATA out of the APx555 and send it to the ADAU1772. Then you want the adau1772 to turn this around and send the data right back out or do you want to go through the core then out of the serial port back to the APx555?
These would be different register settings of course. The ASRCs must be turned on and powered up. Those do default to off. You have to go through the ASRCs.

It would be option #2. APX taking in I2S data, apply DSP magic, then feeding it back out (to the APX).
