Bug report: Sigma Studio fails to create E2PROM binary when using AARDVARK
I am working on a Sigma Studio v4.7 project using ADAU1467 with a selfboot EEPROM connected by SPI.
ADAU1467 is IC1 and E2PROM is IC2. Both using SPI SS #0.
As I encountered USB connection issues with the USBi (tested rev 1.4 and rev 1.5) I tried Total Phase AARDVARK SPI/I²C adapter. With this adapter I do not get USB connection problems. Accessing the ADAU1467 via SPI is fine.
But I found a critical issue.. Sigma Studio does not create the E2PROM.bin and E2PROM.hex file when project uses AARDVARK adapter. When I press "Write Last Compilation through DSP", it doesn't create the bin file for E2PROM. It even continous with the write process to E2PROM. But there is not traffic on the SPI us to E2PROM. And there is no warning or error message shown, which is confusing.
I attached an zip archive with 2 projects. One using USBi and the other one AARDVARK.Sigma Studio fails to create E2PROM binary when using AARDVARK.zip
Could somebody please take a look? Is there something wrong with my project using AARDVARK? Or is it a bug in Sigma Studio
Edit Notes
Fixed type: ADAU1467 is IC1, not IC2

Hello andreas.ru,
I can simulate your issue. it does look like a bug.
I tried the same with SS+, I can get the EEPROM.bin and hex files. So, Aardvark works fine with SS+.
I don't have an Aardvark with me to check the communication but when I just connected it to the DSP and link compile download and write to EEPROM, I get the same files in the folder as we do with USBi. Please give it a try.
Regards,
Harish

How did these end up with the same name? This is used to create folders and used in the reporting so I suggest you change one of them to IC1.

Oh sorry.. Just a typo in my post. ADAU1467 is IC1 of course. The attached project was correct on this.
What is SS+ ? Is it different from SigmaStudio 4.7 ?
I have the same problem, but first I want to know whether I can download SS+ to get the Aardvark interface working.
