Dear Expert,

My customer have below question on BF522:

//

My project use BF522 Chip.

My program requirement:

I want to use UART0 RX DMA8 ISR to accept external UART send data (460800 bps 8 bytes data, 4 KHz send frequency).

UART0 baud rate is config to 460800 bps, DMA8 config is after receiving 8 bytes to generate one ISR.

Present debug status:

DMA8 ISR can generate,UART0 RSR register can also receive the external data.

While DMA8 FIFO data can’t be seen(in my debugger MULTI, can only see maximum DMA7 register),DMA8 write to memory data also can’t be read, in memory DMA8 receive buffer, data all 0.

And UART0 ISR has many errors when RSR register can receive the external data.

Errors: OE FE BI THER TEMPT.

See bellow picture for reference.

Debugger – GreenHills MULTI can only see DMA7, DMA8/9/10/11 for USRT DMAs can’t be seen.

Does BF522 support UART0 RX DMA8?

How to config it, and can be seen in the debugger?

Is there any document or program for reference of BF522 UART DMA RX application?

//

Thanks a lot!

Hi

Does BF522 support UART0 RX DMA8?

>> DMA8 can used by (UART0 RX) Please refer the HRM pg:176 section "Table 5-3. Peripheral Interrupt Events (Part 1)" https://www.analog.com/media/en/dsp-documentation/processor-manuals/ADSP-BF52x_hwr_rev1.2.pdf

How to config it, and can be seen in the debugger? Is there any document or program for reference of BF522 UART DMA RX application?

>> Currently, we don't have UART code readily available for BF522. However, we have example code for BF548 which also uses DMA8 for UART RX which shows how to configure. Please refer the example code and try by modifying it.

Please note that, we support only CCES so this code will run in the CCES tool.
