Hello.

The early stage of designing a 4-way active speaker system is in progress now.
It is necessary to implement a switch for the differential and RCA inputs.
I would like to consult on three issues.

1. It seems that I have organized the Nx2-1 switch correctly, but what to do with the empty input on Nx2-1, which refers to the lower position of the switch and is intended to be used when supplying a linear signal?

2. I would like to use a simple slide switch with 3 pins or a regular latching interrupt button to select the XLR / RCA, connected to the GPIO. I would not like to use a momentary button, since the GPIO needs to be given to the status indicator LED (but this option will do, if it is decided that this is the right option).

3. There is no block for a 4-way system. Tell me how to correctly implement a 4-way crossover. I suspect that some kind of cutoff filters are needed before the crossovers.
Thanks!

Hello OctopusDev,

I had to think about what you are trying to do for your first question but I think I got it now. To answer your question directly, You can either use the "T" To connect the channel 1 output to both lower pins. This will be important since you are using a signal merger which will drop the level by 6dB. So it would be best to double up on the input signal. Otherwise, you can just place a DC cell with it set to Zero.

Now, I would do this differently. Plus, I STRONGLY recommend you place a DC block to get rid of the DC offset that all ADC converters have but this converter does not have a built in HPF.

Then I would go to mono before the switch. This will save a few instructions. So do it like this:

I do not understand what you want to do with your second question? You want a slide switch that switches between the XLR what is differential and the RCA that is single ended? OK, so you will do that in analog? But you want the internal switch we were just talking about to switch between the differential and single ended? You can use a GPIO to change the MUX to automatically switch. But the hardware has to be done correctly. Will you be using a double pole switch? I can see you doing this:

XLR pin 3 --> ADC input 0

XLR pin 2 --> one throw of a Switch

RCA Tip --> Second throw of the Switch.

Then the pole of the switch going to ADC1 input.

This will switch the audio between XLR and RCA.

Then make the switch a double pole. The other pole would be like this:

IOVDD --> One throw of the switch

GND --> to the second throw of the switch,

The second pole would go to a GPIO pin,

Then the GPIO in SigmaStudio would go to an index controlled MUX.

I would do it like this:

For the 4-way crossover, you will have to add a "T" to split the signal. Send it to a LPF and send that to the sub output pin.

Then take the other split and send it to a HPF set to the same cutoff and the LPF so it will remove the sub signal and then send that to a 3-way crossover.

Hello Dave!

I got it, please look at the diagram. Does it look normal?
Regarding the switch. I meant this very simple switch and Pull-Up GPIO0.
