Hello Support Team Guys,

Now one of our customers is facing an issue that one of modules in the export system files contains indirect address, but it doesn't contain direct address. without direct address, there is no innital values. please have a look at the export files. The MIXER1 doesn't contain direct address. Would you please have a look if the customer has missed anything?tdm32x16_IC_1_PARAM.txt

Thanks & Best regards,

Hello xiangzhi wu,

It seems you are using indirect parameter access table (IPAT) for those modules, so it gives you an indirect address.

You can learn about how the IPAT works in the below link.

Indirect Parameter Access Table (IPAT) (ADAU146X, ADAU145X, ADAU144X) [Analog Devices Wiki]

Harish

Hello Harish,

Thank you for your feedback. We have reviewed the link you mentioned. However, the issue is not related to indirect addressing itself. The problem is that we cannot read the value of the MIXER1 module because it only supports indirect addressing and lacks a direct address. Without a direct address, there is no way to obtain the initial value for MIXER1.

Thanks & Best regards,

Hello xiangzhi,

What is different between Mixer1 and Mixer2 in your project?

Since we do not have your project I cannot look at it.

The reason I ask is that the direct addresses for the Mixer2 object does appear in the System-Files output but for some reason the Mixer1 does not?

See, I can search the file and find Mixer2 but you are correct, I can see all the Mixer1 references with the IPAT table but nothing in the actual parameter list:

Here is Mixer 2:

So it begs the question as to what is different about that module?

Is it in a hierarchy block? Is it the same library object (mixer type) as the Mixer2?

I checked for memory page usage and no objects are using memory page 1 so I ruled out that issue.

You mentioned you are looking for initial values. You can still read the parameter addresses. Yes, you have to use the safeload but it can be done. I understand that it is a TON of values to read in so let's see if we can figure out what is going wrong with the System Files output?

By the way, another work-around would be to use the SigmaStudio Capture window. Change a parameter and see what address it is using?

It might give us a clue as well...

One more thing. I assume you are using an actual ADAU1466 in the hardware?

Then in the program config page you have an ADAU1466 in the project?

Thanks,

Dave T

Hello wuxiangzhi,

There is something really wrong with the mixers in the project file. They are huge mixers but the controls that appear when you open up the controls are wrong. I need to experiment with this to see where this falls apart or where else the issue might be. I do not think this is something the customer could have done... Let me explain here and show with some screenshots.

This is from a file I have in my library of projects. It has an NxM mixer in it. It is grown to have four inputs and two outputs.

When you clock on the blue square the controls open up and this is what you see with my chicken scratch notes drawn with my mouse. LOL

The four inputs are vertical on the left and you have two pots to adjust how much goes to each of two outputs.

The outputs are along the bottom. The first one to the left will be the top one on the main schematic window.

Going to the project you supplied in your post. Mixer 1 looks to be 32 x 16 from my rough count.

When I open it up I see the controls.

I counted the outputs across the top and there are 16 and I did not try to count the 32 from top to bottom but it looks OK.

Mixer 2 looks to be 16 x 16

UGH!!! When I tested this a few minutes ago I saw too few controls!!! Then SigmaStudio crashed and I reopened it and now I see the correct number of controls!!

So I am investigating further... I compiled the project. The stats look good for resource usage providing they are actually running at 48kHz fs.

The compiler stats for Mixer 1 & 2 look correct.

Mixer 1 has double the inputs so it makes sense to use double the memory and instructions.

OK, I created the system files and looked at the Params file and I see all the addresses for Mixer2 but not for Mixer1.

I will look deeper into this and get back to you.
