I am trying to make it so Bluetooth will mute when aux is active. I have JAB5 sure WONDOM amplifier with built in adau1701.

I have tried many different ways which ends up either only Bluetooth working or aux or neither.

I just want it so if I have something plugged into aux playing music then Bluetooth will remain muted. Where as currently if I am playing music via aux someone can connect to Bluetooth and play music over the top.

Hello Jack1991,

So, whenever there is a signal in aux input, the Bluetooth input must be muted. When there is no active signal in aux input, then Bluetooth will be unmuted. At a time, either aux or Bluetooth signal will be routed to the outputs based on which signal is present at the time. Is that what you are trying?

There are so many ways to do this and below schematic is just a starting point. It can be optimized and customized in a lot of ways.

So, please have a look and try this, you can customize the conditions and IO routings etc.

I haven't tested or run this project; I just drew this schematic quickly to give you an idea.

So, please try this and let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Harish

Oh thanks that's great I just tried that schematic then and it works to some degree.

It works but if I turn the Bluetooth volume up louder than the aux it overrides the aux and then mutes that and vice versa. Also if I get volumes similar levels they both still play. And there's quite a bit of crackling at times.

I will share my current schematic which just uses Bluetooth. I have a very simple setup just for a simple DIY speaker but would like the option for aux.

So if possible would like to keep it simple when adding in the mute as I am quite new to it so still learning.

Also i guess it would be a good idea to mute aux when not in use even if nothing is plugged into the aux?
