Resource usage web page
It seems there have been numerous changes to the performance in the SigmaStudio development environment since the "SigmaStudio Algorithm Resource Summary" webpages [https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/sigmastudio/toolbox/resourcesummary] were last updated in 2012.
It is useful to have such a reference to look at when estimating potential resource requirements for a project, but it seems it could use a refresh.
For example, to name a few things I stumbled upon in my own usage:
The page says for the "Linear interpolator LUT": executed instructions 18, program RAM 18; in my use, the actual numbers are 34 and 42. Is the difference in how I'm using it?
"ASRC input" executed instructions 2, program RAM 2, but actual is 3 and 5;
"AB in CD out condition" the page says 6 instructions, PRAM 6; in my use it's 7 instructions and PRAM ranging from 10 to 12.
"Signal add" (or subtract), 3 and 3; actual seems to be 4 instructions and a PRAM of 4 to 7.
Many entries are in this range, off by just an integer or two. But in a large project with dozen or hundreds...
On the other hand:
Division and square-root calculation reality is MUCH better than shown: my actual division is 13 and 15 versus 53 and 53 on the resource web page.
The sine tone generator is only 18 and 19, while the web page says 22 and 22. And there are other similar improvements, such as logging and exponent generation.
I realize the various Sigma Studio chips have different capabilities. Maybe that is where the differences come from?
I don't know how many people actually use these pages; I do, to get a general idea, while relying on what the complier returns for the final say. This is hardly an emergency, and I certainly don't want you to take down the pages! But I did want to bring your attention to it.
Thanks for your time.

Hello David,
Thanks for pointing some of this out to us. Yes, some of it has to do with the capability of the different cores but the compiler specs should be customized for each core.
I will ask the programming team to see what they might have to say.
At this point I do not expect this to change since we are not updating Rev-4.7 much anymore since SS+ is available.
Allow me to change the subject slightly. Do you know that there is a way to monitor the number of cycles used and free cycles in real time? You could even have a controller do it.
This is how you do it. I explained it in this old post:

Thanks for the reply, and thanks for the usage monitoring tip!
