Please help me build a 2 way audio speaker system

fuction

1: high pass filter

2 : bass boots

3 : vocal boots

3: GPIO Output daylay mute AMP

4: apply signal limiting with led Indicator

5 GPIO Output deylay on AMP board

-input signal blance use 2 adc

-send the two balanced line level signals out use 4 dac

Hello,

Thanks for attaching your demo project, as often this is the best way for others to see what you're doing. Actually your project shows a good understanding of how to get things done in SigmaStudio. It runs as-is on a ADAU1701MINIZ eval board (after removing the unused cells). My suggestions that follow are merely suggestions, as audio seems to be as much art as engineering.

I'd suggest moving your crossover toward the output end of your signal chain. Its filters are designed to match woofer and tweeter phases at the crossover frequency, where both are active. Filters after the crossover can affect this phase relationship. Thus no filters or delays after the crossover except any specifically compensating for differing driver delays -- a topic which goes way over my head.

Differential outputs are easily done by inverting one DAC. Because the ADAU1701's DACs already invert, the positive output gets the inverter.

Choosing among filters with a multiplexer wastes instructions because all the filters are active whether chosen or not. Instead, use the lookup or index-selectable filters:

Here the pushbutton index counter runs from 0 to 3, selecting from four preset curves (more are possible). Adding curve choices uses no additional instructions, only parameter memory. Cascading these filters allows even more choices (but of course this does take more instructions).

Other index filters provide differing capabilities, including more than one filter per choice. Experiment to find the adjustment flexibility your application needs. An example of using index filters for adjustable bass boost is at:

How to create a parametric EQ controlled by pots on ADAU1701?

ADI's Dynamic Bass block can regulate your bass for the better sounding results without blowing your woofer. You'll find docs for it in the Wiki:

Dynamic Bass Boost [Analog Devices Wiki]

I played with it and shared some test results here:

Dynamic Bass Boost Basics

The Dynamic Bass block has no enable pin, although you can switch it in or out with a multiplexer if desired. Any user-adjustable bass boost will behave differently when placed before or after the Dynamic Bass block.

Can the user see which curve they selected, with just one GPIO and LED? One way is to make a blinking LED, as shown in this post:

The delayed amplifier enable can be accomplished with a timer and a DC source to set the time delay in samples:

I attached a project demonstrating some of these ideas, although it's by no means a finished work. Have fun designing your speaker!

Best regards,

Bob

Hello,

Your screenshots suggest that the two Index Filters I had placed in the modified project are either corrupt or incompatible with the SigmaStudio version you're using. I've been using SigmaStudio 3.15 for projects on Engineer Zone since I've found it to be compatible with most newer and older versions. It appears that you're using a later version.

I've noticed that the modified project grew much larger in file size than your original project, despite having fewer filters. Often this indicates a corrupted project. I re-attached it while suspecting it won't help. About the only other thing I could do is to rebuild the project from scratch using SigmaStudio version 3.17. This would take some time, however. What version of SigmaStudio are you using? Perhaps someone from the SigmaStudio programming team could shed some light on this issue.

Best regards,

Bob

Hello,

Please try the project attached below, it should load fine. It's substantially the same as before, except I used SigmaStudio v. 3.17. I also used different index filters, which may also help because the old filters were flagged when the previous project failed to load. The substitute filters turned out to be easier to set up, anyway. Also the file is now down to human size, a good sign.

Best regards,

Bob
