I have started the development of an audio mixer with 4 digital and 4 analog inputs. I have plan to use a ADAU1442

The outputs are also 4 digital and 4 analogue.

When I have 4 digital inputs, these may be asynchronous.

I have 4 SPDIF to I2S converters.

Can I draw schematic in Sigma Studio in the usual way without thinking that the inputs are asynchronous? Is it only in "Hardware Configuration" under "SPDIF / ASRC Modes" I need to make changes?

Hello LA6NCA,

Yes, you draw the schematic as if they are synchronous because they will be. You will need to route the inputs into the ASRCs to convert them to the internal sample rate. Then you will be synchronous. Yes, the registers you mentioned in the hardware tab is where you make these routing selections. The ASRCs are hardware accelerators and do not use the DSP core to convert the signals.

You will have to setup the serial ports and the ASRCs to have them all function properly. It is a big subject and I have little information to go by. So ask again if you run into problems.

Why do you want to use the 1442? The 1452 is more powerful.
