How can I use extra auxiliary ADC by using an external mux to a ADAU1450?
Hi ADIs
One of my customers is building an audio mixer with 16 knobs.
She wants to receive 16 inputs from one ADC using an external MUX (16: 1).
Do you have a reference to the Sigma Studio configuration when you want to assign that signal to a specific, internally specified process in sync with a signal coming in on any channel (one of 16)?
In this case, do I need an external MCU separately for signal synchronization?
The customer and I am confused because the system configuration of this type is the first.
Any advice on configuring Sigma Studio is welcome.
Thank you

Hello Andrew,
There are many I/O expanders out there. Can you tell me which part they are thinking of using? I need to know what is required to then know how to do it.
The Master Port functions can read from an external part to gather data. If there only needs to be a 4-bit address to address which ADC to read then it can be done using four GPIO pins. However, if the part needs more involved interface that would have to address the port to let the data settle then initiate the conversion and then go back and read the result once it is ready, then an MCU might be needed. Then the MCU can update the values in the DSP.
So give me a little more to work with. The 1450 can do a lot without a controller.

Sorry for the confusion.
The inputs of the external MUX are all potentiometers.(16ch)
What I want to do is to assign the incoming signal from the 16-channel external MUX to the DSP's ADC internally to a specific process.
(In other words, depending on the input channel of the external mux, I want to assign tasks to specific processes internally)
For example, when the signal of the external mux 1 channel is received, the DSP controls the volume, while the channel 2 controls the bass boost etc
I am trying to use the MCU to receive channel information from an external MUX via I2C, but I do not know how to get channel information from the MCU and assign it to a specific process.
Can you give me an advice on the composition of Sigma Studio?
