ADAU1452 connections to a CS4272
Can someone please tell me how to configure LRCLK IN / OUT and BCLK IN / OUT of ADAU1452 when interfacing with codecs like CS4272 which only have single BCLK and LRCLK pins??
I am confused on this issue. Is there a way to join or configure them ?

Hello kanwar,
I understand your confusion. There are several answers depending on what you would like to be the clock master.
The easiest would be to have the DSP be the master. Then you can either send the Serial Input port clocks to the CS4272 or the Serial output port clocks to the CS4272. Then you set the registers in the ADAU1452 so that both serial ports are masters. Then leave the unused pins unconnected or terminate them to ground through a 10K resistor. They will both be getting the same internal clock so they will be in sync.
If you want the CS4272 to be the master then you will have to run the BCLK and LRCLK to both the serial input and serial output port clock pins. There is no way to internally route them inside the DSP. Make sure both parts have the same master clock.

Thanks very much Dave,
If I understand correctly then it means :
Lets say I configure BCLK_IN1 and LRCLK_IN1 pins as master in DSP software and then route it to SCLK & LRCK pins of CS4272 respectively. Simultaneously for CLKOUT PIN of DSP to MCLK of CS4272, SDATA_OUT1 of DSP to SDIN of CS4272, SDATA_IN1 of DSP to SDOUT of CS4272. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Kanwar
Hello Kanwar,
That sounds right. Don't forget to set the BCLK_OUT1 and LRCLK_OUT1 pins also as masters even though they connect to nothing. The clocks are needed to clock the data into the shift registers.
What sampling rate are you running? You might have some difficulty running at 192kHz fs so you will have to be careful in your PCB layout. You should be able to make it work but the transmission lines for the clocks and data have to be implemented carefully.

Hello Dave,
Thanks for the clarification on serial output ports setting as Master as well, much appreciated.
I am planning to run the Fs at 96khz. For the PCB, I am contemplating on using a 6 layer design to keep the things simpler and shorter in path.
