I have a standby mode where I need to minimize power consumption. I don't need D/A or AUX A/D while in standby, but they need to be enabled when leaving standby. Using 1701 in Standalone mode, no micro. Is it possible to construct a project to do this? How much power could I save?

I'd guess the best thing is to hold the reset pin low during standby. That probably minimizes power draw.

Hello BRO,

No, you will not be able to change any settings in a SigmaStudio program that would put the part in a low power mode.

You can do as Joe suggests but this requires a switch or a controller of some sort and it seems that your design does not have one. You would have to be able to tolerate the boot up time once you take the part out of reset. Also, I would suggest a reset generator if you are using a mechanical switch.

You can also simply stop the master clock to the part but then there is a complication with the PLL because it would need to relock.

Thanks,
