Hi,

I found a mux problem. (ADAU1452 EVM and SigmaStudio V3.14.1)

The Nx2-1 moudle in the layout. Whether the choice is 1,2,3,4 or 5 the output L/R is not correct.

(Muxes/Demuxes -> Multiplexers -> Switch -> No Slew -> 2 Ch -> Stereo Switch Nx2)

Thanks,

Chen

Hello Chen,

Thank you so much for reporting this bug! This one absolutely surprised me. I had guessed that the Mux issue stemmed from duplicating the Mux (resulting in its Nx2-1 moniker). Yet, upon building your project from scratch, this Mux gave rather surprising results -- Its output for all inputs except the top one is horribly distorted, easily detectable by ear. Not having time (and too lazy) to hook up a scope, I did an equivalent-time trick to examine the Mux input and output by Real-Time Display. There's no comparison between the waveforms (gasp!):

I'm curious about what on earth is in that Mux to generate such a wonderful mess -- it might make a great fuzz box!

Since 3.14 is a beta, I tried the same project (rebuilding it, not just cut and paste) in Version 3.13. The Mux is just as bad there. With identical oscillators feeding all its inputs, there's awful distortion in Channel 2, with a slight additional increase as you proceed through the remaining channels.

Best regards,

Bob

Hello Chen,

This is known and has been fixed. It will be in the new version of SigmaStudio. It has been scheduled to release in Mid-May but I think that date may slip some so I am not certain when it will be out. For now I suggest you use the slew version if you have enough space for the code. Let me know if you run into issues.

Hello Chen and Bob,

I must correct my last post. I looked at the date where this fix was completed and it was early December 2016. So it was on the 3.14 release dated 12/23/16. It works fine here on my computer.

So if you are running the Beta release then download the newest revision of 3.14 and I think you will find this bug to be fixed.

Let me know how it goes.

That's why you keep old revisions around! One man's bug is another man's treasure!

Hi Bob and Dave,

Thank you for your reply and work. I'm looking forward to the new version SigmaStudio to solve this problem. I remember there is no this problem in the older version. May be version 3.12 or the older.

Because this mux module is used in my old project. And my old products have been sold. I was modified and recompiled the old project in 3.14.1 to find out the problem.

Thanks,

Chen

Hello Chen,

Download the newest version. It is fixed on the most recent revision. You do not have to wait for the next revision.

This is the revision I am using:
