Adding new cells hangs the ADAU1701
Hello!
When i rise the complexity of some cells, for example, the order of the Chebyshev filter, or add some new rather complex cells to the already well debugged program for the ADAU1701, it can stop to work. Even if there is still much resources (Number of instructions used (out of a possible 1024 ) = 236, Data RAM used (out of a possible 2048 ) = 104, Parameter RAM used (out of a possible 1024 ) = 653), and if the linking and compiling of the project completes with out any warning and error, after downloading of the firmware to the ADAU1701, it can unpredictably hangs.
What may cause such problems? Did anyone ever encounter such problems?

Hello Dave!
Sample rate is 192kHz.
It seems that i began to understand. For 192 kHz the limit number of the instructions is reduced to 256...
Thank you very much, Dave.
I didn't carefully read the compiler_output.txt file, where is mentioned the following: Note: Estimates are based on a 48 kHz sample rate. And after your hint, i increased the filter order and made sure that have exceeded the instruction limit for 192kHz.
The problem is fixed, thanks to you Dave with your earlier replies in the following discussion "ADAU1701 stops working after adding filter" and to KJBob with his "ADAU1701 Instruction Usage Table" posted earlier
Hello Alexei,
What is the sample rate of the DSP?

Hello Alexei,
Yes, the max instructions are 256 when running at 192kHz. There are some instructions used for overhead and housekeeping so you may be right at that limit. I am not certain what the number is, In the past it seemed to me that it was around 10 instructions but the number reported in the output file is an estimate. If you change the sample rate to 96kHz and the program works then you are running into the instruction limit.
There may be some places where you can optimize the code. If you do not want to share your schematic on the forum then let me know and I will contact you directly.
