SigmaDsp adau 1452's some question
Hi,there
I am a audio system engineer and I am doing a project with adau 1452,after my testing and then think 1452's sound is pretty good , so I want to use this chip to make a speaker manage system and also maybe will make a digital amp, but I am encountering some problem.
1. I am wondering that there have any way to control this chip with wifi , or it must have to use adi's usbi board?
2. Does the only software to control 1452 is SigmaStudio? , Can I code a custom gui program?
best regards.

Hello Train,
1. I am wondering that there have any way to control this chip with wifi , or it must have to use adi's usbi board?
All the USBi interface does is to convert data from SigmaStudio using USB to I2C or SPI. You can certainly develop your own system controller that takes in WiFi messages and converts it to SPI or I2C to "talk" to the DSP program that is running. You can watch the communications between SigmaStudio and the DSP by watching the Capture window. There are a few things that are hidden like the meter communications because it would clutter up the window with too much data.

You can certainly code your own GUI program that uses WiFi to talk to a system controller on your speaker manager board that then communicates to the DSP. You will still need SigmaStudio to actually compile the program and it is a good idea to have a USBi connector on the PCB to allow you to de-bug the program before handing it over to the system processor.
There are two strategies you can use.
1) Have the system controller hold the DSP code and program the DSP upon power up.
2) Have the DSP boot itself using an EEPROM and then once booted the system controller can control the program. This can be a simpler approach for you but it is your choice.
