Hello,

What is latency of auxiliary input ADC of ADAU1452?

I need very low latency (<50us) from analog in to analog out. Would you have a external codec to advise?

Thank you

Hello,

The throughput latency for the ADAU1452 is described here: ADAU1452 Throughput Delay

Based on that information, the lowest latency available would be 6 clock cycles, which at 192kHz is ~31μs.

Now, the auxiliary ADC for the ADAU1452 is a 10-bit ADC intended for things such as potentiometers or other control signals, rather than audio. All audio processing done with the ADAU1452 will start and finish as a serial audio signal of some kind. Therefore, for analog-to-analog, you will need to add in an external ADC and DAC. The group delay of these chips would have to be very low in order to keep your total delay <50μs.

What is the application that you have, and what amount of processing do you need to perform? If your processing needs are not too complex, you may want to consider the ADAU1777. It has a basic filter engine, and can reach as low as 5μs analog-to-analog latency.

Regards,

Tyler
