I2S Input - MP0,4,5 are all 3.3V?

I'm a little lost here. I'm trying to get I2S input working on an ADAU1701. I've spent countless hours debugging things, making shorter cables, wrapping cables in a ground, all without success. Then I realized that the MP0, MP4, and MP5 are all producing a 3.3V. It's as though they're set as an output and I cannot for the life of my figure out why.

Besides the schematic, and configuring the ports in the control register section is there something else I need to do to make them input ports?

Thanks,

Gus

Hi Gus,

Are you using the ADAU1701 evaluation board? The chip does hold the input bus high -- however, that should not affect the I2S operation.

Be sure you use an external MCLK from the I2S master; the EVAL-ADAU1701MINIZ user guide specifies that the source needs a synchronous MCLK.

Attached is an example SigmaStudio project that has a working signal flow for I2S in -> DAC out. On the eval board, this corresponds to the J7 I2S header going to the J6 stereo 3.5mm jack.

Regards,

Tyler
