Hello Support.

I have developed an application on the AD1940 demo board which works very well. However, I have now realised (with 20/20 hindsight) that the application would have been better developed on the ADAU1701 platform because I would like the target product to run in self-boot mode.

I realise that - for various reasons - the application I developed may not run on the ADAU1701 with less RAM, no hardware slew etc.

I am now at board layout stage at which point I obviously have to commit to the device type. Is there any statistics that I can access from the design in SigmaStudio which will tell me if the application will run on the ADAU1701? Obviously, I can buy the EVAL-board for the ADAU1701 and test this. But I wonder if there is a way to know this without doing that.

Many thanks.

Richard

As a first swipe, couldn't you just compile it for a 1701, and see if it shows any errors? If you're using too much RAM or cycles, the compiler should tell you. It'll also complain about any blocks that don't exist in 1701. (I'm sure there are workarounds for most/all).

Hi Joe 42,

I tried that and it worked perfectly (after a couple of necessary tweaks). So it all looks good. Thank you.
