Hi All
I would need design about 2MHz FSK modulator/demodulator with analog input/output on SigmaDSP processor. Is it possible? If yes, where is starting point of documentation like hardware manual, software manual, user manual, examples and ..... How much is SW development tools?

Thank you.

Hello,

You've got an interesting question! I'm afraid that the short answer is No, yet it may be worthwhile to discuss SigmaDSP's capabilities with a little more detail:

SigmaDSPs are primarily intended as audio processors, with a maximum supported sample rate of 192 KHz. Thus your 2 MHz application is quite out of reach for them.

Yet you can achieve a lot of "analog" modulation and demodulation schemes at audio and ultrasonic IF frequencies. For example: "sound card" SSB modulation / demodulation, synchronous AM demod, and FM multiplex demod. See a few of such applications here:

A -1701 FM MPX Demodulator

Using the ADAU1700/1701 DSP for Radio Communications

Audio filtering for radio communications using ADAU1700/1

I can easily imagine (though have not tried) a simple serial input (via GPIO) to analog output FSK modulator, and analog input to serial output (again via GPIO) FSK demodulator. An external microcontroller would be needed to assemble the outgoing and decode the incoming bit steams.

SigmaStudio is the tool enabling you to design signal flows that compile into SigmaDSP object code. It's available as a download here: SigmaStudio | Analog Devices

SigmaStudio can also develop code for select SHARC processors, which are more powerful than SIgmaDSP processors. I don't know much about swimming with the SHARCs, but I suspect they are more likely to meet a 2 MHz requirement. You can also program SHARC code in C, something you can't do with SigmaDSPs. SigmaStudio for SHARC is a free download, but you'll also need something called CrossCore Embedded Studio (CCES) which is quite expensive. To find more about SigmaStudio for SHARC and other advanced DSPs and development tools from ADI, visit Software and Development Tools , and post questions in its sub-forums such as, SigmaStudio for SHARC
