Hello all,

I have a question about a code compatibility.

I created a project file on Sigma Studio ver 3.11.

And now I am trying to run the project file on Sigma Studio ver 3.12. But I doesn't run on it.

I realized there is no code compatibility on different versions of Sigma Studio.

Is there any way to convert the code so that I would be able to run it on the Sigma Studio ver 3.12?

Thank you very much

Yuta Mihara

Hello,

Normally, projects built with older versions are 100% compatitle with the most recent Sigmastudio version. Usually issues only arise the other way around -- projects that include new blocks won't load on previous versions lacking them. ADI has always tried to maintain forward compatibility with Sigmastudio.

Thus, apparently you have encountered an unusual situation. Perhaps you found a bug in either of the two versions, or your project file has somehow been corrupted. ADI support engineers monitor this forum, and often these issues can be resolved by their examining your project file. Occasionally I have been able to troubleshoot similar issues by saving multiple copies of the affected project, then deleting different portions until it loads and runs. Once in an extreme case I had to manually rebuild a corrupted project -- I hope you don't need to do that, but it went faster than I expected, and the rebuilt project ended up much neater and easier to work with than the original!

Best regards,

Bob

Hello Yuta,

Bob's suggestions are very good. It is rare when we lose compatibility and it is usually something that we absolutely had to change. So can you provide some details as to what you mean by "it does not run"? Does it compile? Does it load? Does anything happen once loaded? Do you see clocks on ports that are masters? Or GPIO? That sort of thing? Give us something to look into. Then Bob, is right, supplying the project would be helpful.
