Maximum number of DSP 'streams' (input/output)

I remember reading that at least some of the processors (1701?) could only handle four DSP streams, even though there were more than four outputs available.
Is this the case with all DSP families, including the 145x? From Fig 41 it looks like the DSP core can handle an arbitrary number, but I want to be sure.

I think I found my answer after digging around:

Looks like the 145x parts don't have the same restriction, and the number of available channels is limited only by sample rate. Even worst-case we're at 8 in and 8 out.
