Thread Summary

The user inquired about using the ADAU1772 codec/DSP to address audio quality issues due to high I2S jitter (19.25%) from an MTK platform at 64fs and 48K sampling rate. The final response indicated that the ASRC in the ADAU1772 can reject some jitter, but the amount is significant. The user was asked to provide the jitter distribution for further analysis.

Hi,

We have a new design, MTK platform, end product is headphone.

If audio quality issue, want to add a codec/DSP(ADAU1772) to do some algorithms.

But MTK i2s output have huge jitter, on 64fs@48K sampling rate have 19.25%.

Any problem to use ADAU1772?

Do you have any suggest about this?

Thanks.

Hello Jacky,

Sorry for the delay in answering. The serial port on this part runs through a sampling rate converter. I will ask one of our design engineers to see what he thinks and I will get back to you. The ASRC will reject some jitter but this is a lot.

Do you know the distribution of the jitter?

Dave T
