About a question of SigmaStudio module "Divide".
Hello all,
I have a question about the SigmaStudio Module"Divide".
I am wondering if this "divide"module has some functionality to avoid dividing data by 0 in case.
If data gets divided by 0 by accident, the result would be infinite number.
So, I am asking if this module has some functionality to care it.
If not, I would appreciate if you could tell me.
Best Regards,
Yuta Mihara
Hello,
The Sigma100 (ADAU1701, etc.) Divide block treats divide by zero as divide by 0.0625 by its internal nature. Thus it's inherently protected from divide-by-zero, although its result becomes increasingly inaccurate as the divisor drops below 0.0625. For more info on this, see:

The SigmaStudio Toolbox Wiki entry Division [Analog Devices Wiki] applies to this version.
The Sigma300 (ADAU1452, etc.) performs division by logarithms, attaining better accuracy while using fewer instructions. My tests indicate its output saturates at 127.999 whenever x/y exceeds this result, including divide-by-zero -- see the example below:

Bob
Hello Bob,
Thank you so much for your answer.
I understand that.
By the way, the read back module doesn't work well even though I press "read" button.
