Can we embed a 'dumb' parameter into the ADAU1701 code?

I would like to be able to pass a number into the ADAU1701 through the self boot code.

I would like to be able to use a library cell like interface read/write where I should be able to enter the code manually. I should be able to know the location where it is stored. The code will not take part in audio processing but will serve as a unique reference that I can access using a microcontroller.

Can we do such a thing?
