Hello,

I am working on a project using the SigmaDSP ADAU1701 evaluation board.

After processing the signal(@60Khz) using the platform, would like to post process the output using Matlab.

What is the simplest IF/technique to output/export the Signal processed by the ADAU1701 for further processing in Matlab/C?

Thanks for the advice.

Hello Sim,

I assume you have the EVAL-ADAU1701MINIZ evaluation board?

Unfortunately, this is one of the few evaluation boards we sell that does NOT have an SPDIF interface. We had to cut the build cost and that was one of the ways. The EVAL-ADAU1401AEBZ does have that capability but costs three times that of the Mini eval board. Finding an I2S to SPDIF converter would be the easiest way to get the data into a file on your computer. I did a quick search on the web and did find one unit that was a reasonable cost but it did not have the optical transceiver.

You can also look for an I2S to USB converter. They do exist but I cannot endorse any particular one.

Otherwise, you would have to take the audio out and go into the analog input to your computer and convert it to digital that way. I know it is not desirable to go through another conversion.

Thanks,

Dave T
