ADAU1701
Hi,
Is there any means of having a short phrase or word that can be stored on the
DSP (ADAU1701) for comparing against?
We intend to have a microphone on our product which is then sent to the DSP via
i2S. When that short phrase or word gets picked up & matched to the DSP stored
word, it can prompt the Micro over i2C to select the microphone i2S input as
the selected source.

Sunil

Hello,
Sorry your question has went unanswered for awhile. Yes, it's possible to store a short snippet of sound -- see:

I'm not sure what sort of comparison one might do, however.
Best regards,
Bob
Hello Sunil,
It seems that what you would like to do is voice recognition. This is actually very difficult to do. It is not a simple as comparing a sound file. There is no way to exactly duplicate a sound file even with the same person using the same hardware. You will never be able to match all the samples. We are beginning to see many voice recognition applications but it will require more DSP power than the SigmaDSP will do.
I did a quick search of the forum for voice recognition and found this: https://ez.analog.com/message/4579#4579
