Hello does anybody know if the ADAU1701 can be configured for analog stereo input and output with electret microphone, or do I need an external ADC for the microphone? Trying to make an ambient noise monitor to adjust my analog input level then send either gained or attenuated based on microphone level. Is this the best chip for this?

Thanks for any input,

John

I see no reason you couldn't use an electret microphone with the 1701; you just need the appropriate bias circuit, and maybe an opamp. If it's just for level monitoring, using one of the four auxiliary ADC's would be fine.
