Dear Sir/Madam,

i am using ADAU1702.

I

need
to
design

a

medium-frequency

EQ
,

you can

use
the
external

potentiometer

adjustable

frequency

range

240Hz-6kHz,boost
can

enable

external

potentiometers
for
adjustment

gain

How

the

EQ

?

Thanks.

Hello hpkamen,

Sorry it appears your post got lost in the Processors and DSP space. Not many look here. To get a faster response, post SigmaDSP related issues in the SigmaDSP Processors and SigmaStudio Development Tool space.

Unfortunately, there's no "External Input" version of the EQ filters in SigmaStudio, nor could they ever be added for most SigmaDSPs (The ADAU1452 is a possible exception). This is because the parametric EQ filters involve calculating five coefficients which is far too complex for runtime execution. Presently the only way to get a fully user-variable EQ is via a microcontroller. Have the uC calculate or lookup the coefficients, and safeload them to your -1702.

For less than the general case of fully adjustable, high-fidelity EQ, there's several other possibilities:

Lookup filters -- where SigmaStudio pre-calculates the coefficients and stores them in parameter memory.

State-variable Filter -- which has external inputs, but is not up to general EQ use.

Best regards,

Bob
