If in the middle of downloading DSP program and parameters and the master clock goes away, what is the procedure to recover?

Reset the DSP and start all over? If the I2C NAKs, can multiple retries be generated until loading is finished or will the DSP program get trashed? Obviously, it's not good to have MCLK go away, but I have a scenario where I lose clocks due to an I2S sample rate change.

Hi Bob:

I believe you have to start all over. Although the DSP program might not be trashed, it is possible that some memory got corrupted and/or a filter was interrupted in the middle of an update operation (in other words, filters might become unstable due to partial update). It's hard to tell but this might cause unwanted clicks and pops, or furthermore very nasty sounds.

Hope this helps.

Hello Bob,

Why is the sampling rate being changed when you are loading the DSP program? Are you changing programs at different times during operation and not just upon power up?
