loudspeaker protection?
I've spent over an hour looking for an article, how to, design note or whatever on a topic that I'm sure I saw in the past few month somewhere on the ADI system. It was, I think, about using frequency dependent limiting to maximize bass potential with small speakers. I'm looking for different approaches to this and was hoping for a good primer from that article. Anyone know which one I'm talking about?
btw, I think I'd like to implement a sliding high pass filter that adjusts in response to bass content. I think that there are a few ways to accomplish this so I'm looking for suggestions.

You can use this technic:

Just insert a low pass filter into the detection circuit and use the gain to control what ever you want like eq, filter .. With dynamic EQ you can control the cone excursion at higher volume. You just have to limit max gain and zero the falling ramp, because every quiet moment will raise the gain up to the limit.
