Hi

I'm trying to implement a clip led on the 1701mini dev board. I found the following threadMonitoring average and instantaneous signal levels which works but it's an instant on/off led. I'd prefer something which gradually increases in brightness. How do I go about controlling a pwm and achieving this ?

Thanks

Rich

Hi,

my solution for an LED to show up actual compression rate.

Hello Rich,

Likely you're referring to the design that uses an ABCD Comparator to activate a GP output when the envelope detector's output (hence your audio) exceeds a set level. Your idea of making this a PWM is a good one! You can do this the way it's done inside switching regulator ICs, by adding a small amount of triangle or sawtooth wave to either the A or B comparator input. This will rapidly blink the LED when the audio is near threshold.

Thanks Bob and Heidi.

I think I got it.

This is an amazing piece of kit, its just a little difficult finding the right bits to start of with.
