We want to be able to sample in I2S data at one sampling rate, do some processing, and also output the audio stream in a different independent sampling rate. It looks like this is possible through the serial digital interface area.

Another option is to input PDM audio at a set rate, do some processing, and output the audio stream in a different sampling rate.

Thanks,

Dan

Hello Dan,

No you cannot output at a different rate. There are no sample rate converters.

If you come in with a digital mic then it is a PDM data stream which will be decimated down to the core sampling rate. So just set the core sampling rate to your desired output sampling rate and you should be fine. The only problem is that there is no PDM input on this part. So you will need an ADAU7002 to convert the PDM to I2S at the sample rate of the 1401A and so you will be coming in and out at the same rate. Problem solved and you do not need to use two rates.
