The compiler output file for the ADAU144x (and probably others) gives a nice tabulated listing of the resources used by each functional block that has been pulled into the schematic. I can't find this for the ADAU1701; the compiler output file is pretty sketchy. Is such an accounting available for this part, or how else does one know when he's running out of overhead?

Hi James,

This was sort of discussed in a recent thread: MIPS estimation for ADAU1701

Unfortunately the older SigmaDSP compilers integrated in SigmaStudio have not been updated to provide a breakdown of MIPS/Memory resources.

In the other thread mentioned above, ther is a spreadsheet attached to give you some ballpark estimates on MIPS, and also a Wiki link which might help for MIPS and Memory estimates.

Thanks, John. Pity about older compilers, will remain hopeful for updates.
