1452 program¶meter ram
Hi,
I use 1452 on my target board. In order to check whether the data 1452 received is right,I use the microcontroller to read
the program ram and the parameter ram after sending the program data and parameter data. But the parameter data MCU read
back is different from that MCU send. What is more, the programis all zeros. The method I read is like the level detector.
Can you tell me what is wrong with it?
Best Regards,
Alex
Hello Alex,
The datasheet suggests that when transferring a large block of data to put the part in hibernate mode. I did some testing and found that you cannot do burst reads from program instruction memory while the ADAU145x core is running. But it seems you will still be able to read parameter data or audio data from DM0 or DM1 memories while the core is enabled (obviously this makes sense since the peripherals like serial ports or aux ADCs transfer data to DM memory addresses).
When I try to read program memory data after downloading a program without disabling the core, only 0x00 bytes are transmitted back to the USBi.
To read program RAM you first must stop the core and enter hibernate mode. I copied these register writes from the capture window which were displayed during a download after compilation over into the sequencer window. You can do the same operation in your microcontroller code.
After reading/writing program RAM, exit hibernate mode and start the core. Here are the sequencer window register commands to do this(also copied from a SigmaStudio download). You can do the same order with your host microcontroller code:
Notice now there is valid read SPI data of Program Memory when the same SPI PM read command executed after stalling the core:
This PM data can also be confirmed in the capture window after the read result is captured.
Hope this helps!
