ADAU1761_ About SigmaStudio
I have been tested using the EVAL-ADAU1761Z and ADUSB2Z.
1, I've saved the SigmaStudio project using the "Save as ..." .
However, change information of Automatic Startup will not be saved as shown below.
Automatic Startup settings can not be saved as the information of the project?
2, Can user create the control program of evaluation board?
If it is possible, could you please tell us a development environment (ex. compiler )?
Thanks,
Somebody help me please.
I have updated the questions.
Please teach me concerning the following questions.
1. Can user create the control program of evaluation board?
If it is possible, could you please tell us a development environment (ex. compiler )?
2. EVAL-ADAU1761 of evaluation board can control by VB or VC?
If it is possible, can I get the documentation about control by those applications?
Thanks,
Hello,
I confirmed that SigmaStudio does not save your Automatic Start option with the project. The SigmaStudio programmers monitor this forum so they hopefully will see your post and fix this in a future release.
Generally, building a SigmaDSP computer interface involves two programs -- one for the computer and one for the microcontroller that acts as an intermediary between the computer and the SigmaDSP, as shown below. The microcontroller boots the SigmaDSP at startup. Then in operation, it monitors the local control panel and / or the computer port, translating any user adjustments to SigmaDSP parameters, then safeloading these to the DSP. For example, SigmaStudio itself is a PC program which controls your eval board through the Cypress microcontroller in the USBi board.
Where I work we use PIC microcontrollers which we program with a CCS PIC-C Compiler. Of course there's many other choices out there, whatever floats your boat. Since the microcontroller handles communication from the PC to the Sigma, it might as well do the math of, for example, converting user parametric EQ input (boost, Q, frequency) into the five filter coefficients that it safeloads into the DSP. There's plenty of help available on each step of this process, which you can find by searching the Sigma forum.
I have no experience in PC programming, so hopefully someone else can steer you to a suitable package. One other possibility: If you set up your microcontroller with an Ethernet port and suitable "web server" software, you could build a web-page UI that your end user accesses through any web browser, much like configuring a WiFi router.
As you get into your project, you can ask more specific questions and usually get help rather quickly. I'm sorry that your question remained without any answer for awhile. ADI was shut down for over a week during the holidays.
Best regards,
Bob
