ADAU1452 too long selfboot time...
With two FIR blocks of 8192-taps, the booting time is about 50s !!
Reading the manual, it seems that it is supposed that the E2prom starts to be accessed at low speed that it is later increased (?).
However, measuring the MOSI (pin27) and SCK (pin28) signals, it seems that the frequency is constant in all the process and about 12.5KHz.
Is there a way to accelerate the E2prom reading during self-boot? About 1min is too much for any application...
Any help will be very appreciated.
Thank you

Hi Toino,
I attempted to duplicate your issue using the ADAU1452MINIZ eval board. I could not get a 8192 FIR coefficient table to load properly, so I used four 4096-tap filters instead, as shown below. My test project self-booted in less than one second, suggesting that something is slowing down the transfer from your SPI E2PROM to your -1452..
Best regards,
Bob
Hi KJBob
Thank you by your work in trying to duplicate my issue.
Meaning while I think that I have found the problem origin. My board is not the miniEval.
It seems that in the Hardware Configuration panel, the E2Prom Properties window should always be configured as the same as in the ADAU1452// Selfboot Memory// Write Latest Compilation through DSP. It happens that I have not configured it and the default configuration have remaining intact:
However I have configured the ADAU1452 as in the manual:
I will appreciate if you try to program the board with the E2Prom Properties window with the default configuration in order to see if the booting time is 50s.
Attached is the double-8192 tap Fir
Thank you
Hello Toino,
With the different properties, the write to E2PROM took far longer than normal, afterward the DSP did not successfully self-boot (I waited about five minutes and heard no sound).

Hi Bob
Thanks a lot by this sanity check.
Now I am facing a new problem with GPIO.
I am using MP10, MP11, MP12 and MP13 as pin inputs from switches in order to mute outputs individually.
After modifying the registers, it works with the USBI attached.
However, doesn't work at all with booting from the E2Prom alone.
Apparently the register information is not properly saved or uploaded from the E2Prom, unless I am doing something really wrong...
Cheeking the MPxx signals, it is obvious that they are configured as outputs of LRCLK_INx (the default config.) and not as inputs as programed.
Well... I will reread all the manual until I come back here searching for help on this issue.
Thank you very much.
