Use ADAU1452 in embedded system - remote control via SigmaStudio (TCP/IP?)
Hi there,
I see that SigmaStudio has TCPIPADAU1761 and one for ADAU1421, also there is TCPIP1940 interfaces available.
How would they be used in a project? I am trying to acomplish the same for my ADAU1452 project, where I would like to have SigmaStudio as a remote control for the DSP (for initial setup / tweaking the system) via TCP/IP. After that I would create a project that will be loaded onto my Processing Unit.
Is this even possible?
What are the TCPIPADAU1761 Communication Channels in SigmaStudio used with?
I could not find any hardware notes how this should be used.
Best Regards,
Christian

I just found this:

In SigmaStudio I cannot connect the TCPIPADAUxxxx communication protocol to my ADAU1452. Is there a plan from Analog Devices to implement TCPIPADAU1452 into SigmaStudio? Is the code open source for those communication protocols? We might be able to help, if this is not in analogs scope.
Is this the right place to ask this question?
anybody?
Hi Christian,
Sorry for the delay. I am looking into if this is supported for the ADAU1452. I will follow up on this after I get more details.

Hi JT,
do you have any news on this? Can this be implemented by an external company or does only AD add those communication protocols to SigmaStudio?
Best Regards,
Christian
The protocol described on the page SigmaStudio Network Utility for Linux [Analog Devices Wiki] is clearly not the same as the one being used by the TCPIP1940. I quickly checked the protocol used by the TCPIP1940 module (using Wireshark) and it's not the same.
Moreover, any "readback" object (like the level detector) in a SigmaDSP project hangs as soon as TCPIP1940 is used (while it works with the USB interface).
I posted a message to AD support to get the description of the protocol (look for TCPIP1940 topic in the EngineerZone), no answer from AD support at all
we would be really interested to get this feature as well
Hi JT,
our timeline is moving forward and this feature is highly appreciated. Could you give me some details (or PM), we are willing to implement the TCPIP device for sigmastudio if it is possible / open for us to do so. Is there any documentation on this?
I could imagine that the interest in having this feature will increase in the future.
Best Regards,
Christian
Hi JT,
are the TCPADAU1452 and TCPADAU1442 comunication protocols still in the pipeline? Could we have an offline conversation about this topic?
Best Regards,
Christian
i finally managed to connect Sigma Studio 3.14.1 build 1675 and an Adau1452 board over TCP/i2c.
the tool source code is on github.
it's just a start but at least now i can program the DSP on ram and update the modules params at runtime through the GUI.
