Hi,

We have the ADAU1452 eval board. We use Sigmastudio to build and upload some filters and store these in the EEPROM. It was very simple to get this working.

But… We want to dynamically adjust filter parameters and delay setting using a remote application on a separate ARM processor and using either a I2C or SPI interface connected to the ADAU1452.

Now I understand from the manuals that it is possible to adjust levels of the in- and outputs using either of these interfaces, but is there a way we can also change the parameters of a filter? (say freq, gain, q of a parametric filter, changing a FIR filter table, changing delay time etc.

If that would be possible then that would be great! If not, is there another DSP we can use where this is possible?

Best regards,
Eric

Eric, for the filters you have many options; there are index-selectable first- and second-order filters, state variable filters with Q&F input, basically any module with a red pin input. I don't think that's possible with FIR, though if you have enough instructions you can run parallel filters and select with an index-selectable switch.

Hello Jon71

Thank you for that answer. I did not realize that the "red dots" would allow me to select -within boundaries- different filter settings. I do can imagine that this would be very helpful to load several filter presets. I however did not see a possibility to -for example- change the base frequency of a notch filter via the red dots / I2C. (so have a gain X and Q of Y and frequency traveling from 20Hz to 20kHz). I'll investigate further.
