edit hardwareconfiguration in graphical sigma studio?
Hi at all,
is it possible to change the hardwareconfiguration without an external processor? an example:
in the hardwareconfiguration in the register SerialOut1 at the adress 2078 i can set the 12th bit to set the dsp in master mode or reset the bit and the dsp is in slave mode.
is it possible to change this bit? and how should i do that?
thanks for answer,
best regards

Hello hubijo,
You can change the 12th bit (D11) in register 2078 (hex 081E) first by selecting the HW Configuration window and the 170x\140x Register Control tab, which brings up the view shown below. Then click Master Mode in the Serial Output section. This puts a 1 in D11 of register 2078, and switches the I2S output to master mode. As a result, BCLK becomes active.
Or, if you prefer you can change the desired bit directly by typing it into the register box on the same screen:

Hello Bob
Thank you for the answer. Is it possible to edit the register in the graphical mode to change the register value? Is it possible to select the bit in the register with an "module" in the graphical connection?
Thank for answer and best regards,

Hello hubijo,
Now I understand what you wish to do -- change the Master/Slave bit under control of the running DSP program (graphical signal flow). This would allow a self-booting ADAU1701 to select Master or Slave I2S operation according to logic in your signal flow. Unfortunately, SigmaStudio includes no such function block to enable this. In addition, I cannot find in the -1701's data sheet as well as in this forum, a way for the -1701's core to modify its own control registers at runtime. Thus you'll need to include a small microcontroller in your system to access these registers via I2C or SPI,.

Hello Bob
Thank you for the answer. i think it could be possible to change this bit without an external microcontroller.

Hi All:
The ability to change registers from the SigmaDSP core was not present in our SigmaDSPs until the introduction of the 145x family of ICs. Also, keep an eye for new integrated class D for low power applications that uses an integreated SigmaDSP (similar to the 1761) that also lets the core write to it's own register.
I should mention this functionality should be used with extreme care since you could have th DSP core Kill the core.:)
