Thread Summary

The user inquired about the differences between multiple listed audio processing blocks, suggesting they should be labeled with 'separate detect' and questioning the meaning of 'Stereo 1 Peak' and 'Stereo 1 RMS'. The final answer indicates that these blocks use different detection methods (peak vs. RMS) and recommends using the Tree Tool Box for clearer differentiation. The accompanying answer clarifies that 'Stereo 1' likely refers to the first stereo channel, and that 'fast release' is a feature of one of the blocks, though specific documentation for 'fast release' is not provided.

Why are there more than one of these listed?

They seem to be the same thing? Also these should be labeled with "separate detect", they are not the same as "Mono Peak (no gain)"

and what does "Stereo 1 Peak" or "Stereo 1 RMS" mean?

There are many different versions of the compressors and it would be helpful if the Peak and RMS versions were grouped the same way and all the labels were renamed to fit the same pattern.

Hi Bright,

We are looking at thing problem. Actually, they are different and it shouldn't be the same name. I suggest you to use Tree Tool Box instead which displays in a better way and will make you more clear on different blocks.

For this question. They are using a different method for detector. The first one will detect the peak of audio signal

and the second one will use RMS(Root Mean Square) value of the input audio signal for the detector.

Thanks,

Jun

So what's the difference? One is "fast release" and the other is not? Is there any documentation on what "fast release" means?

Yes, but what does "Stereo 1" mean?
