device not recognized anymore
I'm using the adausb2z to upload a program from Sigma Studio to the adau1701minibz. I installed the usb driver on Windows 8 and have been able to compile programs and upload it to the eeprom, but then it just stopped working. On the adausb2z, all the LEDs D1, D2, D3 and D4 are on, and it does not power up the adau1701minibz board (D3 on the eval board is off). Windows no longer recognizes the presence of a USB device too.
Do you know how we can fix this?
Hello,
The adausb2z (a.k.a. USBi) has a way of either working fine for years, or conking out shortly after receipt. I have had both experiences. My first one died after I inadvertently plugged it into a USB 3.0 port on my laptop. It's not that doing this will always kill a USBi, yet the USBi is only compatible with USB 2.x, so connecting it to a 3.0 port may be taking unnecessary chances. ADI swapped it for me. The replacement, as well as several additional USBi's I have acquired since, have worked flawlessly. For more insight into USBi problems, see USBi Problem
Your symptoms appear to me as classic dead USBi syndrome, so I suggest you get it replaced. I had mine swapped by one of the support engineers on this forum who simply arranged for an informal exchange. Unfortunately that support engineer is no longer with ADI, but hopefully another of the support staff will see your post here and contact you. If not, start a support request -- see Analog Devices Worldwide Technical Support | Analog Devices
Best regards,
Bob
Hi Marcus,
I am following up to make sure that you received a good, working replacement for your EVAL-ADUSB2EBZ.
Best regards,
Coleman
