Background noise filters
I am using the latest Sigma Studio. I did a search and found you have a wind noise filter. But I am using the ADAU1452 DSP. What filters can I use from the software to reduce background noise? Or do you have any SDK kits that may work with Sigma Studio? I was going to use my audio card and record the noise and perform a frequency response. My mike is a stereo condenser type. Possible using the black sound absorption material will help?
Thanks,
Philip

SigmaDSP Audio Processors
Hello Philip,
Since the ADAU1452 is relatively new, it ironically has fewer available algorithms than less capable SigmaDSPs. This situation should resolve with future SigmaStudio releases. Thus, presently the Wind Noise module has not been ported to the ADAU1452. SigmaStudio is the SDK for these chips; there is no C compiler and customer assembly coding is not supported -- see https://ez.analog.com/docs/DOC-1425
Certainly, anything you can do to reduce the causes of background noise can reduce the need for processing measures. Using directional mics close to the desired source, and properly applied soundproofing materials may help. If the residual background noise is broad-banded and relatively low-level, you could try a multi-band gating solution built from available blocks, such as that found at https://ez.analog.com/thread/40799

Bob,
Thanks for the excellent feedback. I am actually having fun with this DSP IC. I looked at the other filters for band pass/lp/hp.
I have not discovered all the possible combinations of filters as yet. Right now I am laying out a board for the DSP IC. The current results are great. The active Microphone makes a big difference in sensitivity. It is a great product. Extremely user friendly.
Thanks,
Philip
