Are there logic operators available for the GPIO inputs of the ADAU1445?
Hi,
We use the ADAU1445 audio processor for intercom - and audio purposes in a video camera system. At startup of the system we load the processor software via the I2C connection. For test purposes in the factory we use the selfboot option to load the testsoftware from an on board EEPROM. We use in the test bench the GPIO inputs to control some functions in the processor. In this way it is not necessary to relocate control register addresses after a change in the processor test software. However I need more GPIO's to control all the test functions. Are there logic operators available for the GPIO inputs in order I can create 2^n functions with n GPIO inputs?
With kind regards,

Hello Gerard.
I tried the schematic below on a ADAU1701, but the concept should also work on a -1445. Three GPIO inputs are assigned power-of-two weights by their Buffer Gate bit positions. They're added to produce a number from 0 to 7, which drives the De-Multiplexer to output a 1 in that numbered slot. The result is similar to a BCD -- 1 of 8 decoder.
Best regards,
Bob
Hi Bob,
Thank you.
I understand the demultiplexer outputs are able to control sigma studio functions like externally controlled xfaders?

Hi,
Blocks such as slew muxes (cross-fade) expect an "integer" (28.0) format control input, while other blocks (such as volume controls) expect a 5.23 full scale input. You can choose which format the demux outputs by changing its DC source input, or by using Buffer Gates at each demux output as needed. Unselected demux outputs are zero, fortunately the same in any format.

Thank you Bob,
I’ll try it.
