a finished prototype
Hello guyz! It is not a question, I just wanted to "boast" a little bit about the prototype of the ultrasonic device for the blind. It uses two boards, the top one is an adau1701 based computer (can I call it a computer since it computes?) and the bottom one - a power supply with voltages up to 400v and high voltage amps.
Cannot believe it is done!!
The first time I have done something except a music score.
The scale is in millimeters.

Nice work man, I posted mine up the other week gives you a sense of pride to see a project finished

Thanks mate!
Cool! Does this help blind people to navigate somehow? Just curious about the end application.
Surprisingly, it does!! The question is to which degree, but my blind friend can easily tell me where a car is, or a tree, or a house wall. And also whether things move and how fast.
But I need some extensive trial of course, tomorrow will try on myself outside on some crowded street.
This is excellent! Congratulations! Be careful out there!
Best regards,
Coleman
Hi Skfir,
Hope your test went well. It would be really cool if you could post a video clip demonstrating what the user hears in their headphones as various objects are approached.
I am heartfelt impressed with what you accomplished here. The design and construction of your device involves programming, analog and digital interfacing, switch-mode power conversion, thermal management, acoustics, PCB layout, industrial design, and electronic construction techniques. This would be at least an enviable BSEE senior project -- and you're a music major. May your friend enjoy using it for a long time.

Thanks Coleman, thanks Bob!
Meanwhile at least everything works fine and sure I will try to make a video how all that sounds. Telling the truth the funniest thing in this device is a Doppler effect, when something moves and some pitch appears... very weird. I wonder how animal with natural ultrasonic sensitivity perceive the word around - should be something very different. Also it is surprising that you put on headphones and you hear that there is a literal roar reflecting from walls, if the output is too high, but once you take them off and there is total silence. So strange. Thank you again people for so much help during this time. Thank you all very much!
