Dear support team,

We want to know specification of CLKIN for ADAU1442 and ADAU1452.

We will use 12.288MHz clock source for CLKIN.(not crystal)

Q1: Is Input level of CLKIN same as digital input specification?

Q2:Can CLKIN receive a clipped-sine wave?

Q3:What is accuracy of frequency(ppm) needed?

Best regards,

Takepiro

Hello,

A1: Yes, the clock input level matches that of the other digital IO pins.

A2: Yes, the pin works as an edge detector, so a clipped sine wave should be fine.

A3: The duty cycle of the waveform must be between 25% and 75%. Frequency inaccuracy will not cause functionality issues, but could potentially worsen the accuracy of filters in the DSP program. Jitter is OK up to a certain level - however, the PLL might lose lock if jitter is very bad.

I hope this answers your questions!

Brett
