SigmaDSP evm in combination with amp evm
Hello,
Is there anyone with good knowledge of ADI EVM:s that could fulfill these demands:
1)
6 analog inputs, SigmaStudio DSP, 1 analog output (for sub) + 6 outputs that...
connect to
6 Channel amp (about 10-15 W/channel).
2)
2 analog inputs, SigmaStudio DSP, 2 outputs that..
connect to
2 Channel amp (about 10/15 W/channel).
My thought is that, one connects a SigmaDSP Evm to a Amp evm and get the above systems.
Thankful for suggestions!
Thanks,
Helge
Hello Helge,
Nothing 'off the shelf' is available to the tune of your request, at least not that I know of.
My needs were similar and here is how I thought my way out by coming up with a custom board that I designed for myself:
1. Think of ADAU1701 as 2 channel analog input and 4 channel analog output device. Three of these will give you 6in12out analog channels. This solution will avoid a lot of external op-amps and limit the variety in power rails, give you space for reasonable amount of channel level processing.
2. Add ADAU1442 for a lot computing power, SPDIF in and out.
So with 1 and 2 you are still on single GUI based platform.
3. You can consider the TI TPA3130/18/16D2 chip for 15/30/50W stereo amplifier solution. this chip too needs a single power supply, minimal heatsink and output filter. The three parts are reasonably priced and are form fit.
I hope this helps. Feed me back on how you eventually end up doing this.
From Analog devices, I hope to see a new chip with computing power of adau1442, 1 SPDIF IN, 1 SPDIF OUT, 6 analog INs, 8 analog OUTS and INTERNAL EEPROM.
At least, let us have a poll on what features we would like to have in the next generation of the SigmaDSP chips.
Regards,
Ravindra.
Hello Ravindra,
Thanks very much for responding. I agree with your suggested system architecture.
As for new SigmaDSP products, I currently don't have any information about a product that would match your required feature set, unfortunately.
